In 2001 Mapei introduced the new line of "Cement Grinding Additives", dedicated to cement production.
These additives are not meant for traditional Mapei customers, but are used directly in cement production plants.
Grinding aids are formulated to solve agglomeration problems within tubular mills and to improve e cement quality.
Their action mechanism helps eliminate pack-setting phenomena between ground particles and reduces coating inside the mills.
Their use also enables the operating conditions of the plants to be optimised while improving the quality of the finished cement, positively impacting on the economics of cement plant operations.
The grinding additives improve the characteristics of cements which later when mxed with concrete admixtures become indispensable raw materials for the preparation of a durable concrete.
Mapei produces two families of two families of grinding additives: MA.G.A. (Mapei Grinding Aids) and MA.P.E. (Mapei Performance Enhancers); These additives are added in modest quantities and continuously while grinding, to increase mill yield and enhance cement performance.
The philosophy driving the Division is, of course, Mapei's utmost care for the quality of its formulations and for customer satisfaction, never hesitating to select raw materials that ensure absolutely constant quality over time; the goal is to "deliver quality", minimising fixed costs (transport, production, etc.) when comparino the total expenditure total expenditure per ton of cement produced, in order to meet the cement industry's real needs.
In addition to those we consider to be basic products, the Cement Additives Division is more than willing and able to formulate tailor-made additives.
