September 23, 2025

Mapei unveils its solutions for the stone industry at Marmomac 2025strengthening its position in the market for natural stone architectural paving and street furniture. Scheduled to take place in Verona from 23 to 26 September 2025, the event is the leading international showcase for the entire stone production chain. At stand E2 in hall 7, Mapei will be exhibiting a wide range of innovative products designed to meet the growing needs of designers, clients and end users in the field of monolithic, elastic, draining, durable and sustainable flooring.

NEW PRODUCTS

Premixed mortars composed of recycled material

The big news presented at Marmomac are Mapestone TFB LIFE and Mapestone PFS 2 LIFE. The first is a premixed mortar for screeds for natural stone driveways, compliant with the new CAM-STRADE 2024 (Minimum Environmental Criteria) regulations, as it contains over 10% recycled material. With a mechanical strength of over 55 MPa after 28 days, this product is designed to ensure durability even in difficult environmental conditions, such as freeze-thaw cycles, exposure to sea water and chemicals from de-icing salt. Easy to use, it is mixed with water only, eliminating dosing errors. It is ideal for installing cubes, slabs, pebbles and blocks, making pavements resistant and sustainable.

Mapestone PFS 2 LIFE is, instead, a premixed mortar for grouting architectural stone paving joints, also formulated with recycled material. Designed to withstand high mechanical loads and severe conditions such as frost, de-icing salts and sea water, Mapestone PFS 2 LIFE ensures stable and long-lasting grouting. The product is easy to apply, requiring only the addition of water, and offers high adhesion and abrasion resistance, thus meeting the needs for renovation and maintenance of high-quality natural stone urban spaces.

Silane-terminated binder for consolidating decorative surfaces

Another eagerly awaited innovation is Mapestone AirGhost, an innovative binder based on silane-terminated polymers. It is  one-component and solvent-free, particularly resistant to de-icing salts, thermal stress and UV rays. Thanks to its rapid cross-linking properties, it is ideal for consolidating crushed and rounded stone aggregate surfaces: it is applied by spray directly onto the aggregate to be stabilised. Perfect for decorative surfaces subject to light pedestrian traffic, it is suitable for gardens, gravel walkways, driveways and areas with limited traffic. The product forms a protective barrier that prevents the growth of weeds, keeping outdoor spaces tidy and low-maintenance. Furthermore, it has no hazard labeling, making it safe to use, also respecting the environment.

Innovation in architectural grouting

Derived from the renowned Mapei Mapestone Joint Ghost product, Mapestone Joint Ghost Sand is a premixed mortar based on silane-terminated polymers and quartz sand, designed for grouting architectural paving made of natural stone, klinker, terracotta and cementitious interlocking tiles. With a minimum joint width of 5 mm and a depth of at least 30 mm, Mapestone Joint Ghost Sand guarantees high mechanical and frost resistance, as well as a filtering capacity that helps improve the permeability of urban surfaces. The product, which can also be applied in conditions of high humidity or light rain, is ideal for surfaces subject to light traffic up to 3.5 tonnes, including squares, markets and temporary event areas. Respectful of the environment and easy to use, it reduces construction time and maintenance costs, ensuring long-lasting results. Also in this case, there are no pictograms or hazard indications, confirming the total safety of the product for operators and the environment.

New formulation for superior performance

Keracolor GG in its new improved formulation regarding workability and ease of cleaning, is a premium cementitious grout for joints from 4 to 15 mm, with high mechanical strength, durability and low water absorption. Modified with polymers, it is suitable for ceramic tiles, terracotta, natural stone and agglomerate floors and walls, even in areas subject to heavy traffic and in outdoor environments exposed to freeze-thaw cycles. With very low VOC emissions and EC1 Plus classification, it offers excellent resistance to chemicals (pH>;3) and abrasion, ensuring uniform, crack-free and easy-to-clean finishes, ideal for sustainable and high-performance architectural solutions.
