Mapei Construction Chemicals LLC hosted a successful Waterproofing Seminar on 25 November 2025 at the Grand Plaza Movenpick in Dubai Media City, bringing together consultants, contractors, engineers, installers and industry professionals for a comprehensive technical session focused on durability, innovation, and system design. The half-day seminar delivered in-depth training on the latest underground waterproofing, roofing systems, polyurea technologies, and terrace & balcony solutions, supported by real project references and expert insights from Mapei’s global and regional teams.

The seminar opened with Nisreen Salman, Specification Manager, Middle East & Africa, who introduced Mapei’s expertise and integrated waterproofing portfolio. This was followed by a detailed session from Dino Vasquez, Corporate Product Line Manager – Waterproofing Line, who presented the methodology of underground waterproofing, focusing on the technical requirements of top-down construction, sequencing challenges, and long-term design considerations for deep and below-grade structures. The program continued with Cristina Longoni, Regional Product Line Manager – Waterproofing Line, who delivered an extensive combined presentation covering liquid-applied roofing technologies, polyurea systems for tanking, deck applications and landscaping areas, and terraces & balconies waterproofing solutions. Cristina complemented her presentation with regional and international project references, illustrating system performance, correct detailing, and the importance of complete, compatible Mapei solutions in ensuring durable waterproofing outcomes.
