MAPEI Cement Academy Seminar 2025 Brings Industry Leaders Together in Dubai

November 28, 2025

On 26 and 27 November 2025, Dubai became a hub for technical exchange and forward thinking as Mapei welcomed customers and partners to the MAPEI Cement Academy Seminar 2025. Hosted over two days, the event went beyond a traditional technical program, creating an open platform for dialogue on the future of cement production and the shared responsibility of the industry in advancing sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.

The seminar featured expert contributions from MAPEI S.p.A. Italy, with Matteo Magistri and Raffaele A. delivering in-depth sessions on clinker quality and grinding optimisation. Their presentations sparked active discussion among participants, addressing both technical performance and operational challenges faced by cement producers today.

Sustainability was a central theme throughout the program. Diego Pala and Eilya Nadeem provided practical perspectives on decarbonisation strategies and environmental performance, highlighting how measurable actions and innovation can support long-term sustainability goals within the cement industry.

Additional technical insight was shared by Osama Fathy from Mapei Egypt, who guided attendees through the key drivers of efficient cement grinding. His session combined practical tools, real-world case studies, and hands-on approaches aimed at improving plant performance while reducing operational costs—topics that strongly resonated with participants.

The agenda was further enriched by contributions from industry partners. Zeewaqar Iftikhar Butt of Holcim Emirates Cement shared insights into alternative fuel and raw material (AFR) substitution, while Nitin Asnani of Union Cement Company presented practical perspectives on vertical roller mill (VRM) optimisation, adding valuable operational context to the discussions.

The seminar was delivered with the support of the Mapei Middle East & Africa team, including Davide Padovani, Hazem Kanan, Jaleel Mohamed, Summit Soni and Fakhraldin Awadalkarim, whose coordination ensured a seamless experience for all attendees.

Above all, the Cement Academy was defined by the quality of engagement with participants. The questions, reflections, and willingness to exchange ideas underscored the value of collaboration in addressing today’s industry challenges. Through initiatives such as the MAPEI Cement Academy, Mapei continues to support the cement sector with technical expertise, knowledge sharing, and a clear commitment to building a more efficient, innovative, and sustainable future.
