System for installing ceramic tiles in damp environments on waterproofing multipurpose panels

Application steps

Applying in beads and spots with adhesive  ULTRALITE S1 the waterproofing multipurpose panel  MAPEGUARD BOARD

Cut the panels to the size required with a cutter. Apply the beads and spots of adhesive on the panels and bond them directly to the substrate

Adhesive
Apply the adhesive on the substrate with a notched trowel suitable for the type and format of the tiles to ensure the back of the tiles is sufficiently wetted. Use the double-buttering method where specified by UNI 11493-1. While installing the tiles use levelling systems from the MapeLevel line to maintain the correct width for the grouts and to reduce lippage between adjacent tiles.

Grout
Once the adhesive has set, carefully fill the grouts to their full depth using a rubber trowel without leaving gaps or steps. After filling the grouts with epoxy mortar clean the surface while the mortar is still wet fresh with a cellulose sponge dipped in water and a Scotch-Brite® pad where required. Carry out any final cleaning required using  UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner.

Adhesive
Apply a full layer of adhesive on the substrate.

Waterproofing multipurpose panel
Cut the panels to the size required with a cutter and bond the panels directly to the substrate.

Waterproofing multipurpose panels  MAPEGUARD BOARD assembled with hybrid sealant MAPEFLEX MS45 and adhesive  ULTRALITE S1
Use the adhesive and hybrid sealant to assemble the panels required to create shower walls.

Adhesive
Apply the adhesive with a brush or No 3 notched trowel or roller to bond the waterproofing accessories.

Band
Seal the joints between each single panel with waterproofing tape and seal all the critical areas (corners, edges, through elements) with special accessory items from the MAPEGUARD SYSTEM system.

Cut the panels to the size required with a cutter. Create holes and openings for through elements using a drill with a hole-saw bit or with a reciprocating saw.
Use the hybrid sealant and mechanical fasteners to assemble the panels to create partitions and furnishing features.
