Intervention at the Andorra Private Recreation Center
The reconstruction and refurbishment of Andorra's private leisure center, an emblematic space in the country and a major tourist attraction, was carried out. The work was awarded to the construction company Locubsa, while the application and distribution was carried out by MS Grup. The complete execution of all the phases, both the rehabilitation and waterproofing, as well as the flooring and the pool basin, was carried out by MS Grup. After the demolition phase, the necessary supports and modifications were prepared using PLANITOP FAST 330 repair and levelling mortar. At specific points, repairs to the existing concrete were carried out with MAPEFER 1K passivation protector for reinforcement and PLANITOP RASA & RIPARA repair mortar, using the latter to adapt the corners by means of half reeds. These repairs constituted the necessary preliminary steps for the waterproofing of the pool shell and the beaches, carried out with MAPELASTIC SMART waterproofing membrane, reinforced with MAPENET 150 fiberglass mesh. Special attention was paid to the singular points, treated with MAPEBAND reinforcement band, and the possible entrances of pipes, such as skimmers, were secured using MAPEPROOF SWELL hydroexpansive sealant and guaranteeing the adhesion of the repair mortar with EPORIP epoxy adhesive, after a previous sanding of the surfaces. Once the watertightness was verified, the vessel was tiled with KERAFLEX EXTRA S1 deformable cementitious adhesive, applying the mosaic and grouting it with KERAPOXY EASY DESIGN high-strength grout, while the joints were executed with MAPESIL AC silicone sealant. Natural stone was used on the beaches, bonded with KERAFLEX EXTRA S1, and, after prior protection with MAPECRETE STAIN PROTECTION stain protector for absorbent surfaces, grouted with KERAPOXY EASY DESIGH grout. The large-format vertical pieces were fixed with ELASTORAPID cementitious adhesive and grouted with KERAPOXY EASY DESIGN. This process guaranteed a comprehensive renovation, ensuring both the functionality and the aesthetics of the emblematic space. |
