Ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) deepens its partnership with Mapei Sport. Giuseppe Abruzzini, athletic trainer for the Elite Women's Alpine skiing team, emphasizes the crucial role of research and technology in preparing athletes. Physical monitoring, performance analysis and injury prevention form the backbone of this comprehensive approach. This structured methodology harnesses talent, resilience and team cohesion to drive peak performance.

What benefits do your athletes get from the partnership with Mapei Sport?

The partnership with Mapei Sport offers great benefits for our athletes, thanks to cutting-edge technologies and scientific support for monitoring physical fitness, analysing performance data, injury prevention and assessment protocols for returning to competition after injury, with the aim of maximizing every single athlete's full potential.
We hope our own work will continue to be backed up by the professionalism and support of the entire Mapei staff as we head into the future, sharing research work and developing innovative tools and methods for assessing fitness and performance.

What are you expecting from the season that is about to begin?

The upcoming season will present some ambitious challenges, including the Milan-Cortina Olympics when we are aiming to perform really well, without of course forgetting the World Cup. We are focused on progression and consistency on both a team and individual level, helping all our athletes surpass their own limits and creating even greater team spirit.

Preparations for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games?

Preparations began with long-term strategic planning based on a carefully structured, forward-looking approach. Other key factors will be focusing on resilience and the ability to handle the pressure that inevitably comes with an event like the Olympics, even more so when it is a home game. All our athletes and coaches are determined to represent Italy in the best possible way with the goal of making the podium!
