Mapei returned to the autumn trade fairs Cersaie in Bologna and Marmomac in Verona, showcasing innovation, sustainability, and design excellence. At Cersaie, the company presented sustainable installation systems and new adhesives such Keraflex S1 Evolution Zero. At Marmomac, Mapei introduced sustainable solutions for architectural stone paving, including Mapestone TFB LIFE and Mapestone AirGhost, designed for durable surfaces with high environmental performances. Both events emphasized Mapei’s commitment to innovation, circular economy, and aesthetic quality in modern construction.

In Bologna, aesthetics, functionality and sustainability interact with each other

From 22 to 26 September, Bologna once again became the capital of innovation with the 42nd edition of Cersaie. A space for architectural design was the theme of an event that no longer focuses purely on new products but also explores the latest trends in living and interior design. With more than 600 exhibitors from 25 countries, new installation technologies, start-ups and innovative materials, the show highlighted the resilience of the Italian ceramic industry in the face of global challenges and reaffirmed its leadership built on design, sustainability and Industry 4.0.
In line with this concept, Mapei was present with two stands: one dedicated to sustainable solutions and innovative systems for the installation of ceramic tiles, the other aimed specifically at installers. Adjacent to this second booth was a space devoted to Profilpas, a Mapei Group company specialising in profiles for floors and walls, shower systems, outdoor raised flooring and installation accessories.

Mapei displayed a range of technical solutions tailored specifically to the needs of modern construction, one of which was Keraflex S1 Evolution Zero*, a high-performance, deformable adhesive with further reduced certified environmental impact in comparison with standard C2 S1 adhesives. Its formulation is based on low carbon footprint cements and recycled materials. Keraflex S1 Evolution Zero* has very low emission of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and its Greenhouse Gas emissions are fully offset through the entire life cycle. Other innovations on display included: Keraflex Quick,a new quick-setting adhesive available in white and grey that guarantees workability, ease of application and rapid drying, even in cold weather; Keracolor GG grout, which creates joints with a compact, durable surface; installation accessories such as Mapeguard DH-U, a reversible waterproofing corner, Mapeguard ST Flex, a flexible waterproofing tape in rolls, and Mapeguard WP Adhesive 1K, a quick-drying, one-component cementitious adhesive.

Mapei also presented Mapesil AC Zero*, a sealant with a fossil-free formula, recycled cartridge and fully offset CO2 emissions, and Mapefoil VB 120, an LDPE film for uncoupling screeds , also acting as a low-diffusion vapour barrier.

Hall 25 saw Mapei showcase its latest innovations for ceramic tile installation in its stand during the Cersaie 2025 trade fair.

In Verona, stone meets innovation

For the four days from 23 to 26 September, Marmomac 2025 once again transformed Verona into the beating heart of the global stone industry. Rather than a conventional trade fair, the show is a laboratory of ideas where tradition and cutting-edge technologies come together to shape the spaces of the future. This year Marmomac once again confirmed its role not just as an international showcase for the stone industry but as an opportunity for networking and growth.

At booth E2 in Hall 7, Mapei presented a wide range of systems to install architectural stone paving that combine sustainability, performance and design. Alongside consolidated solutions such as the Mapestone and Mapei Color Paving systems, the company launched Mapestone TFB LIFE and Mapestone PFS 2 LIFE, two ready-mixed mortars for screeds used to create architectural stone paving that comply with the latest regulatory requirements. The products stand out for their recycled content and high mechanical strength, essential characteristics for creating paving surfaces exposed to freeze and thaw cycles, de-icing salts and seawater.

Another product testifying to Mapei’s research efforts was Mapestone AirGhost, an innovative solvent-free binder for consolidating and protecting outdoor crushed and rounded stone aggregate surfaces by spraying. This product protects them from the growth of weeds and moss, making it particularly suitable for gardens and light walkways. Further highlights included Mapestone Joint Ghost Sand, a grout which combines strength and water drainage capacity with ease of application even in damp conditions, Mapestone Drain for pervious pavings, and the Mapestone Calcix products for the restoration of paving of historical interest.

Also showcased at Marmomac were the systems developed by Mapei for installing stone material indoors: from products to prepare and waterproof substrates to adhesives and grouts, right up to specific sealants for stone materials and solutions for raised floors by Profilpas (Mapei Group).
Cleaning and protective solutions from the UltraCare line, as well as decorative grouts such as Kerapoxy Easy Design, were also on display.
At Marmomac 2025, the focus was on Mapei's latest systems for architectural stone paving and solutions for stone installation in interiors.
*CO2 emissions measured throughout the life cycle of products from the Zero line in 2025 using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs, have been offset through the acquisition of certified carbon credits in support of forestry protection projects.
