The architect initially favoured competitor’s STO materials for the restoration works. Our Wall Coating Specialist managed to cause RDC Architects to switch to our systems/products after very diligent interaction with the architect. After convincing the architect of the workability of our systems, the next step was to meet the owner of the church and then the main contractor. Mock-up demonstrations were conducted on site and subjected to tests based on requirements. Backed with our dedicated Technical support/expertise, favourable performance of our products and past successful restoration references such as Sultan Mosque, Church of St Anthony, Thian Hock Keng temple, Yueh Hai Ching temple, MAPEI was awarded the supply contract supported by all three decision makers. In general, the church’s facades faced severe rising damp issues and there were presence of efflorescence. Mortar has debonded and spalled off and there were cracks in the structure. The entire structure was unstable. To remedy this, Mapei recommended to supply complete restoration systems from masonry repair, structural strengthening to mineral paints. |
