In 2014, after 20 years of its existence, a major renovation was called for. By virtue of various successful iconic restoration job references, our Wall Coatings Specialist received an invitation from the competent architects James Ferrie and Partners to submit Mapei proposals. The requirements for the type of paint specified by the architect have to meet the following conditions: •It has to be truly mineral-based and transpirant. •Reduce streak marks. •Water-repellent properties. Technical proposals were supported by sample mock-ups to show colour effects and products were also submitted for testing. All feedback in these aspects were positive. Coupled with successful performance in other renowned restoration projects such as Thian Hock Keng temple, Sultan Mosque, Yueh Hai Ching, Jamae Mosque, Nargore Dargah Indian Muslim Heritage Centre, Mapei was awarded the contract to supply. During the works-in-progress, our Coatings Specialist and Technical Service staff gave necessary assistance in substrate preparation, product mixing and application to ensure a job well done. |
