RM Supplier: Ready Mix Concrete, LLC – Rochester, MN Project Facts: One of 3 Proton Beam Therapy Cancer Treatment Centers in the U.S. Multiple mass pours exceeding 5,500 cy were placed in 14-16 hour continuous pours Due to the mass concrete foundation walls, a low heat of hydration was required after extensive performance testing. A proprietary mix utilizing a unique combination of Type 1 Cement, fly ash and GGBFS was selected for the pozzolans. The pumpability of this mix and strength development was enhanced by the chemical admixtures used. 28 and 56 day strengths exceeded 9,000 psi. |
