From the UK to the USA, Italy, Australia and Hungary, Mapei solutions are enhancing workplaces with durability, design and sustainability. In Bath, resin floors from the Mapefloor line complement the industrial style of the Newark Works redevelopment. At Mercedes-Benz USA’s headquarters in Atlanta and at Expand Workspaces in Foggia (Italy), Mapei adhesives and grouts ensure flawless installation of ceramic tiles. In Sydney, Mapei and Polyglass systems protect One Chalmers offices. In Hungary, Flexmont’s headquarters feature energy-efficient façades completed with the company's thermal insulation and coating systems.

Newark Works, Bath (United Kingdom)

Once the industrial heart of Bath, the building – dating back to 1857 and home to the historic British engineering company Stothert & Pitt – has now been reborn as a creative hub thanks to an exceptional redevelopment project. Designed by Ferguson Mann Architects and built by BAM Construction for TCN, the complex houses modern industrial-style workspaces, preserving the original style of the brick and steel structure. To enhance the atmosphere, a resin based system from the Mapefloor range was chosen for the floors. Applied by Craftsman Flooring, the cycle involved the use of Primer SN epoxy resin primer to treat the substrates and of Mapefloor I 302 SL, a two-component epoxy formulate. Finally, the flooring surface was protected with a final coat of Mapefloor Finish 58 W, a transparent polyurethane finish that is resistant to wear and chemicals. A durable, seamless floor that blends perfectly with the contemporary design of the building.

Mercedes-Benz USA Headquarters, Atlanta (USA)

The 18,580 m² building, with its all-glass façades and large open spaces, stands out for its modern, functional and elegant design, in line with the brand's style. Mapei contributed to its construction by supplying materials for laying textile flooring and grouting the joints of the porcelain tiles in the lobby and bathrooms. Planipatch and Ultraplan 1 Plus** were used to prepare and level the substrates. The textile floor was installed with Ultrabond ECO 810** adhesive, while in the central lobby, the joints of the porcelain tiles were grouted with Keracolor S** mortar. The mortar was also used in the bathrooms for grouting the joints in the ceramic tile floors, marble wall coverings and mosaic coverings in the showers. Finally, in the building's gym, solvent-free Ultrabond Eco 575 adhesive was used to bond the rubber skirtings. The Mercedes-Benz USA headquarters now represents a perfect combination of aesthetics, functionality and innovation.

Expand Workspaces, Foggia (Italy)

Expand Workspaces, the first modern business centre in central and southern Italy, is located in the heart of Foggia. Covering an area of 1,500 m², it offers co-working stations, offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, conference rooms and relaxation areas: an innovative hub for professionals, companies and start-ups looking for flexible work solutions. Inside, large-size ceramic tiles were laid on approximately 800 m² using Mapei solutions. The substrate was levelled with Planitop Fast 330 fibre-reinforced cementitious mortar (now available as Planitop Fast 330 Zero*) and treated with Primer G. Keraflex Maxi S1 adhesive (now available as Keraflex Maxi S1 Zero*) was used to bond the ceramic tiles. Tile joints were grouted with Ultracolor Plus* water-repellent and mould-resistant grout, while the perimeter and expansion joints were sealed with Mapesil LM. A smart and versatile space designed to inspire, connect and support business.

One Chalmers, Sydney (Australia)

A modern 12-storey commercial building with over 22,500 m² of floor space, located in the Mascot district south of Sidney, was designed by Rothelowman Architects.

Mapei, together with Polyglass (a subsidiary of the Group), took part in the construction work by supplying waterproofing solutions for balconies, terraces, planters and the exposed roof of the entire structure. After applying Polyprimer HP45 bituminous primer to improve adhesion, Polydetail MS sealant was used, which is suitable for sealing, repairing and creating technical details. The surfaces were waterproofed with Spider P SA and Spider P SA mineral self-adhesive bituminous membranes. Aquaflex Roof, a flexible, fibre-reinforced liquid membrane was then used to waterproofing the roof surfaces.

The joints were generally sealed with Mapeflex PU45 FT, a rapid-hardening polyurethane sealant, while Mapeflex MS45 sililated polymer-based hybrid sealant was used when Spider P was involved.

Mapecomfort R rubber mats were laid in the planters and on the balconies to provide additional protection for the membranes. The combined Mapei–Polyglass solution ensured complete, durable and efficient waterproofing.

Flexmont, Veszprém (Hungary)

Clean lines and modern finishes characterise the headquarters of Flexmont, a Hungarian company specialising in industrial automation systems. To ensure the best performance in terms of thermal insulation and to enhance the building's facades, the Mapetherm EPS System was chosen and installed. After checking the substrate, the cycle involved the installation of 12 cm thick sintered expanded polystyrene insulation panels, bonded with a cementitious adhesive from the Mapetherm range and fixed with Mapetherm-Ejotherm anchors, necessary to counteract thermal expansion. Again using a suitable product from the Mapetherm range, a 5 mm reinforced skim coat was applied using Mapetherm Net glass fibre mesh. Once the skim coat had completely dried and cured, the final coating was applied using Quarzolite Base Coat and Quarzolite Tonachino Plus acrylic plaster, which is resistant to algae and mould. The colour, obtained using the ColorMap technology, faithfully reproduces Flexmont's corporate colours.
The facades of the Flexmont headquarters in Veszprém (Hungary) were thermally insulated and painted with Mapei systems.
