Several factors can influence the quality of the air inside our homes: human behavior, ventilation, products used in the home such as detergents, furniture and building products all emit volatile organic compounds (VOC) which can affect the indoor air quality.

Mapei has developed solvent-free products with low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) which can guarantee good air quality inside the buildings where they are used, for the well-being of both applicators and final users.


MAPEI low emitting materials are certified EMICODE EC1 PLUS, released by GEV Gemeinschaft Emissionkontrollierte Verlegewerkstoffe, Klebstoffe und Bauprodukte e.V.), an association which checks emission levels of products used for floors, adhesives and various materials used in the building industry, and of which we are a member.


Mapei products are also certified with other mandatory labels (In Germany, France, Belgium) and voluntary ones (Blauer Engel, M1) in order meet the requirements of regional markets
