Ray White City Apartment’s The Airdale Apartment is situated in the heart of Auckland Central Business District (CBD) assures a modern urbanite and enhanced lifestyle experience. It promises a design that makes use of the latest technologies and innovation. They’ve strategically designed the living areas to have balconies that are north-facing so that when the sliders open, the people living in it will have a nice view overlooking the city and the harbour. Kitchens and wet-areas feature custom inspired cabinetry, contemporary fittings and faucets and a full array of quality appliances. All service areas have been executed to the most stringent and fastidious levels of workmanship and specification using only the most trusted names and products associated with the construction industry. With floor plans ranging in size from 45m2 studio apartments to 55m2 one bedroom flexi-apartments and 70m2 two bedroom, two bathroom apartments with en-suite variants there is a configuration to suit a range of lifestyles and budgets. Bello Tiles was awarded the tiling contract of this project and requested Mapei’s technical assistance. This project demanded professional waterproofing and tiling finishes and left no room for error which was another reason Mapei was consulted on this project. Soukaro Confort was the soundproofing system installed under the tiles using Ultrabond Eco 170 as the adhesive. After which, Fiberplan was applied as a levelling compound primed with Primer 3296 after fully cured. Then the liquid waterproofing membrane Mapelastic Aquadefense was roller-applied in the wet area. Bello Tiles then installed the tiles using Keraflex Maxi S1 tile adhesive (high performance, deformable adhesive with extended open time, no vertical slip and ideal for installing large format porcelain and natural stone tiles in both internal and external applications). Grouting was extremely important to the final finished appearance, so the selection of Ultracolor Plus premium grout was essential. All joints were sealed with Mapesil AC silicone sealant resulting in a perfect installation system.
