Mapei’s seamless resin flooring solutions provide smooth sailing.

Mapei’s impressive resin products range is available to ensure all flooring needs are covered effectively and efficiently, while providing a versatile, highly aesthetic and durable solution for any space.

The seamless flooring sector demands a wide range of products to meet specific needs and requirements in all environments; resin flooring is used in industrial environments, warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, food and beverage, and chemical industries, through to service environments including hospitals, airports and shopping centres. Mapei’s numerous products offer a solution to each individual seamless flooring project.

Martin Yarker, Technical Advisor for Resin flooring at Mapei says, “Solutions and specifications vary according to each area of use and are chosen by performance characteristics, as well as the finish or pattern which makes them bespoke to each and every client.

“We mustn’t forget that resin flooring is applied skillfully by hand by individual floor layers, so each solution really is subtly unique.”

When specifying for a project, performance characteristics can often govern which type of resin system are most appropriate for a given environment; specifications for resin flooring should be taken on a case by case basis, with design choices, functions and installation approaches all being taken into consideration.

For some projects, it is desirable to retain the existing flooring as well as installing new flooring. Resin systems allow for the application of products to a system, which can take the thickness from 50microns to 9mm in depth, creating seamless – not necessarily jointless – surfaces. Self-levelling resins have the ability to highlight the difference in style between an existing exposed structure and the new smooth flooring whilst remaining as functional space. Mapei’s self-levelling cementitious flooring Ultratop also serves to strengthen artistic features of a space whilst providing a durable flooring solution for heavy traffic areas such as retail spaces and museums.

There are no longer set rules when specifying a flooring system; a single area can be subtly divided using Mapei’s resin, cementitious or Mapefloor Comfort Systems.
