Premium Resin Driveways has completed a uniquely bespoke installation using Mapei Profilpas profiles to pay tribute to the martial art of Taekwondo. The seamless installation features two-tone resin and Profilpas profiles used to create bold Korean lettering embedded into the surface. The installation was given the seal of approval by local resident and First Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha, a key figure in the history of Taekwon-Do. Widely recognised as the Father of British Taekwon-Do, Rhee introduced the discipline to the UK in 1967, laying the foundations for its growth nationwide.
Located in Glasgow, the custom-made decorative driveway spells Taekwondo in Hangul, with the lettering sitting seamlessly within the resin finish. Profilpas high-quality aluminium trims – in straight and flexible formats – were used to frame and finish the lettering in the intricate installation. They included the Profilpas’ 12.5mm straight edge Cerfix Proangle profile and 12.5mm Proangle Flex bendable profile bound within the two-tone black and sand coloured resin. All resin material was supplied by Vuba Surfaces.
“We were proud to be involved in this very special project. It stands out not only for its technical precision but also for its cultural and historical resonance. Profilpas profiles provided the ideal solution for creating the very intricate lettering,” commented Deckard Bulley from Premium Resin Driveways.
“This project embodied the spirit of perseverance and resilience central to martial arts philosophy; fall down seven times, get up eight 土転び人起. Absolute credit to Premium Resin Driveways; the result was stunning,” added Profilpas’ Richard Caygill.
