S&D Flooring completes Hull Trinity House Academy makeover with Mapei

Mapei floor preparation and installation products have been used to complete a project at the new Hull Trinity House Academy. The installation was carried out by

S&D Flooring as part of a renovation of the school’s main building and extended dining hall. Works were completed for main contractor, Sewell Construction, and the project was delivered by Hull Esteem Consortium LEP Ltd.

Hull Trinity House Academy is located on the former site of Endeavour School. The fully refurbished school, run by the Delta Academy Trust, is now co-educational and its Year 7 intake has doubled.

During floor preparation works throughout the school, subfloors were primed with ECO Prim T Plus universal acrylic primer featuring a very low VOC EMICODE : EC1 Plus formulation. Mapeproof One Coat damp proof membrane was applied to control residual moisture and surfaces were smoothed and levelled with Latexplan No Ammonia fast-setting, cement-based levelling compound and Ultraplan Renovation Screed 3240 fibre-reinforced smoothing compound, also featuring an EMICODE: EC1 Plus formulation.

The flooring installation included Polyflor XL PU, Polysafe Hydro and Tarkett Safetred Spectrum safety vinyl throughout corridors and Burmatex® tivoli® carpet tiles within classrooms. Two Mapei EMICODE: EC1 Plus adhesives were used to install the flooring: Ultrabond Eco V4 Evolution – an all-in-one universal adhesive – for the vinyl and Mapei Ultrabond Ultrabond Eco Tack TX+ solvent-free acrylic-adhesive carpet tile tackifier.
