Mapei (UK) Ltd are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Concrete Repairs to join our team. This strategic role is key to expanding our presence in the growing concrete repair, strengthening and protection sector.
The successful candidate will play a high-profile role in the market, driving sales of our comprehensive range of concrete repair mortars, grouts, structural strengthening, and corrosion protection systems. You will engage directly with specialist installers, main contractors, engineering consultants, distributors, and industry associations.
Essential knowledge/skills:
- Achieve sales targets and growth objectives in line with company strategy and KPIs.
- Identify, develop, and communicate opportunities across specification, project, installer, and distributor channels.
- Collaborate with Category Manager, Specification, Technical, and Marketing teams to deliver tailored system solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, especially contractors and concrete repair specialists.
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and reporting via the CRM system.
- Produce regular progress updates and sales forecasts.
- Deliver presentations and product demonstrations.
- Support testing, training, and technical events.
- Assist other Business Development Managers and territories as directed.
- Record project references and draft case studies.
- Represent Mapei at targeted industry events
Desirable:
- Proven commercial acumen and technical sales experience.
- Strong understanding of concrete repair, protection, and strengthening systems (Mapei product training provided).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the construction sector, ideally with a manufacturer or contractor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, focused, and tenacious.
- Relevant higher education (e.g. HND/Degree) and professional memberships preferred.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems (training provided).
- Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours, including occasional overnight stays.
- Alignment with Mapei’s values and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Remuneration: Salary will be negotiable based on experience, knowledge, and ability. Working hours: 37.5 hours a week, 08:30-17:00 Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
Location: home-based with regular travel to Mapei HQ Halesowen and other UK offices as required with frequent travel to client sites.
