Business Development Manager Industrial Flooring

Mapei (UK) Ltd is seeking to recruit Business Development Manager Industrial Flooring. This position will report to the National Sales Manager, Building Products

The main purpose of this role is to achieve all sales targets and objectives agreed with the National Sales Manager and to ensure the company has an active presence on all resin and cementitious flooring projects within the assigned territory. The successful candidate will be required to develop and enhance Mapei UK’s relationship with Specialist Flooring Applicators, Principal Contractors, Facility owners and Design Practices active in the industrial and commercial flooring market. This will require a proactive approach to identifying and targeting projects, providing system recommendations, commercial proposals and cooperating with flooring applicators, owners and design teams to achieve sales objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to promote the full portfolio of Mapei flooring systems whilst offering complimentary products into all projects, working closely with colleagues within Mapei UK

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels and have a tenacious ‘can do’ attitude with a flexible approach to winning business and achieving sales targets. The successful person should be a well-presented team player with a professional attitude.

Applicants ideally should be based within easy access to the Motorway network although this can be flexible. They must also be able to work away from home when required.

We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated person with a positive winning outlook and attitude.

Essential: 5 years recent relevant Sales experience within the construction industry, and ideally within the industrial/Resin Flooring Segment
                  At least 5 GCSE passes, grade ‘C’ or equivalent to include English and Maths
                  A Full UK driving licence
                  Excellent time keeping and record keeping skills
                  Able to work flexibly and when required overnight stays away from home.
                  Good working understanding of Microsoft Packages – Powerpoint, Word and Excel


Desirable: Experience in the Construction Products Sector would be ideal and a qualification in a suitable discipline, i.e. building/construction would be advantageous

Hours of work: Monday- Friday 08:30-17:00 with an hour for lunch, 37.5 hours a week.
