A vacancy has arisen at Mapei (UK) Ltd for the post of Concrete Technician Admixtures, at the London laboratory in Crayford. This role will report to the London Laboratory Manager.

The main role will be to support and assist the Laboratory Manager & Concrete Technologist carry out tests on the incoming raw materials, finished products and concrete at the London laboratory. Occasionally this may include testing at customers facilities, so some travel and overnight stays will be required.

Working closely within the Admixtures Team, the successful candidate will undertake laboratory studies, routine materials testing & support local R&D needs.

We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and is able to carry out their workload to strict procedures with a methodical and practical approach. We require the applicant to have excellent organisation and communication skills, a good quality of written work, good record keeping skills and laboratory practical skills. Full training will be given.

Essential:
• Ideally be educated to a minimum of GCSE’s grade C or equivalent in English, Maths & in a science based discipline
• An understanding and working capability of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
• Experience in laboratory work.
• Ideally experience in the building industry, working with similar products to Mapei UK Ltd.
• Full driving licence.


Desirable:
• Previous experience and/or qualifications in concrete and construction materials testing.


The hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday with 30 minute break 08:00am - 4.00pm, some flexibility may be required, as out of hours may be needed for site visits.
