Mapei (UK) Ltd, is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician within our Operations Department, in Burnley. This role will be based at Burnley.
The role will involve both routine and advanced testing of raw materials and finished products, supporting production and ensuring compliance with internal specifications, CE marking requirements, and customer expectations. The position allows for the suitable candidate to grow in their understanding of construction chemicals and waterproofing products.
The applicants must have an eye for detail and carry out their workload to set procedures in a timely manner. A desire and passion to help support and contribute to growth in themselves and the organisation is essential, along with the ability to simultaneously support the other departments, as and when required.

Essential:• Attention to detail, accuracy, proactive, methodical, organised. Reliable team player who can also work independently. Problem solving and analytical mindset. Willingness to learn and adapt to new testing methods.
• Working knowledge of physical and chemical testing procedures, understanding of laboratory test methods. Ability to interpret test results, identify trends or anomalies, and take appropriate action.
• Competency in use of laboratory management/ERP systems/other computer programs.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including Math’s, English and Science (Grade C/4 or above).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality control or product testing laboratory environment (cementitious or chemical products desirable).
Desirable:• Familiarity with CE marking requirements and quality systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
• BTEC/HNC in Chemistry, Materials Science, Construction Technology or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent laboratory experience in lieu of formal qualifications will be considered.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, 0830-1700 Monday-Friday which includes 1 hour lunch break.
