Mapei (UK) Ltd is seeking to recruit a Southern Technical Manager - Polyglass.

The Southern Technical Manager will act as the primary technical expert for flat roofing products across the southern region of the UK. This role combines client-facing technical support, product consultancy, training delivery, and specification assistance. The successful candidate will ensure that contractors, architects, and specifiers receive accurate guidance to deliver projects to the highest standards.

Essential:

• Provide expert technical support to contractors, architects, specifiers, and merchants within the southern UK region.
• Assist in the specification of flat roofing systems, ensuring compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Deliver on-site and in-office training sessions for clients and internal teams on product installation, best practice, and troubleshooting.
• Act as the key point of contact for technical queries, resolving complex issues and providing practical solutions.
• Work closely with the sales team to support project acquisition and tender processes.
• Monitor product performance in the field and provide feedback to R&D and product management teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, regulations, and competitor products.
• Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and technical meetings.
• Prepare technical reports, case studies, and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• A good working understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
• At least 6 GCSE passes, grade ‘C’ or equivalent to include English and Maths.

Desirable:

• A qualification in a suitable discipline, i.e., building and construction and/or least 10 years’ experience within the building and construction sector.

Salary will be negotiable based on experience, knowledge and ability.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, 0830-1700 Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
