MAPEI Products used at Audi Dealership

Mapei supplied products for the installation of 3000 m² of tiles supplied by San Marco at the newly renovated Audi dealership in Menlyn. Mapei specified the use of a high-performance, fast-setting tile adhesive, namely Adesilex P9 Express to ensure that the tile installation is able to withstand the heavy weight of the vehicles in the showroom. The tiles were grouted after 6 hours using Mapei’s water-repellent Cement Grey Keracolor FF cementitious grout. The grout was mixed with Fugolastic – a liquid polymer admixture which is used as a substitute for water to mix the cement-based grout to improve the grout adhesion and mechanical strength as well as improve the compactness and reduce porisity. The construction joints were sealed using Mapeflex PU 45 FT- a polyurethane sealant.

As a company with over 80 years of working in the tile adhesive industry, to be able to contribute to this project was a great privilege. To have played our small part in bringing this prestigious Audi showroom to the city gives us great pride.
