Mega Mall is the biggest commercial center from Romania with a total construction surface of 230.000 sqm. Mapei had a major contribution since the beginning, our products being used for installation the mounting substrate and ceramic tiles in the galleries, sanitary spaces, parking floor and the pool situated on the top of the building. Screeds based on cementitious binder Topcem and self-levelling compounds Ultraplan Eco and Ultraplan Maxi were used for interior applications, on the main corridors of the Mall, in order to level and smooth the differences in thickness before laying large tiles (60 x 120cm). Bonding of the ceramic tiles was made using the following adesives: •Keraquick S1 and Granirapid (grey and white) – the beneficiary of the project, agreed these products due to their technical characteristics and benefits. •Keraflex Maxi S1 (grey and white) – this adhesive was used for bonded tiles with in all restaurants, all bathrooms and part of the main corridors; most tiles were large-sized and this adhesive is suitable in these cases. For hydro-insulation in the bathroom were used Mapegum WPS and Mapeband PE 120 and for bonding ceramic mosaic was prefered Adesilex P9 (white). Joints were grouted with Ultracolor Plus and Keracolor FF – all surfaces on which were used Mapei adhesives. Kerapoxy grout was used in spaces that are in contact with acid cleaners (detergents) for cleaning (spaces inside Carrefour Supermarket). The pool situated on the top of the commercial center was waterproofed using Mapelastic and Mapeband, Keralastic was used for bonding ceramic tiles and for joints was used Kerapoxy adhesive. |
