The Norwegian Forest Finn Museum plays an important role in preserving and promoting the Forest Finn cultural heritage in Norway. The new museum building, which is being constructed at Svullrya in the municipality of Grue, will be a forward-looking landmark and a gathering place for history, identity and knowledge. In addition to its cultural ambitions, sustainable choices in materials and construction methods are a central part of the project.
Documented sustainability
Mapei has supplied several special products with a low carbon footprint and thorough environmental documentation for the project. The deliveries include:
- Additives for fibre-reinforced and volume-stable concrete floors, which reduce shrinkage and require fewer joints – extending the service life and reducing the need for maintenance.
- Injection systems for sealing and securing.
- Floor levelling for optimal floor surfaces.
- Adhesives for wooden floors, with low environmental impact and high performance.
The main contractor for the project is Ø.M. Fjeld AS, and our solutions have been installed by Valdres Industrigulv AS and Parkettpartner AS.
A project we are proud of
Being part of a project that both preserves our common cultural heritage and focuses on sustainability is something we at Mapei value highly, and the project is a good example of how modern building technology and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand with tradition and the preservation of history.
