Liquid product used as anti-wear agent for drilling and mechanized tunnelling
Where to use Drilling Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 is added to the water-based drilling fluid, in order to prevent typical problems which may occur during drilling, such as: wash-out, mud rings, bit balling and tightening holes. When drilling in clay, the use of Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 avoids the natural tendency of the clay particles to stick together, thus keeping the tools clean and efficient. Mechanized tunnelling Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 is useful to minimise problems of high wear and abrasion of the drilling tools present on the TBM cutting wheel. In a “slurry shield”, Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 can be added to the water-based excavation fluid, thus enhancing the longevity of the excavation tools.
Consumption The dosage depends mainly on the geo-mechanical characteristics of the ground to be excavated. A concentration of 0.6-0.8 l of Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 per m³ of drilling fluid is usually sufficient in normal conditions.
Packaging Mapedrill F.R.A. 02 is available in 25 kg and 200 kg plastic drums and in 1000 kg plastic tanks.
