Mapei, through its subsidiary Mapei Spain, has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Getafe Club de Fútbol, the Madrid football team playing in the LaLiga, Spain's top league. With this collaboration, the Italian multinational company further expands its commitment to sport, confirming its desire to work alongside entities that share the values that have always characterised its corporate philosophy, such as passion, the pursuit of excellence and tenacity in pursuing objectives.
Founded in 1946 and with over 75 years of history, Getafe C.F. is a consolidated presence in LaLiga and a symbol for the local community. The Mapei logo will appear on the team's official shorts and will also be visible in the main areas around the Coliseum stadium. There will also be involvement activities dedicated to the club's season ticket holders and supporters.
Mapei has been present in Spain since 1991 with two factories in Amposta and Cabanillas del Campo, the headquarters in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda and a wholesale outlet in Mallorca. With this sponsorship, the multinational strengthens its relationship with the local community and opens up new opportunities for brand visibility in Spain, a strategic market for growth in Europe.
Getafe C.F. joins several other football clubs that Mapei supports all over the world. In addition to owning U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, which plays in Serie A, has its headquarters at the Mapei Football Centre and plays its home matches at the Mapei Stadium, it is currently the sponsor of Club Atlético Lanús in Argentina, Deportivo Independiente Medellín in Colombia, Grazer Athletiksport-Klub in Austria, KIL Toppfotball in Norway and Tauro Fútbol Club in Panama. The support for the Italian national football team during the 2006 World Cup was also important.
