From 2022 to 2024, both tracks will be completely replaced and new points with a larger radius will be installed. Instead of the existing track structure with ballast and wooden sleepers, a solid concrete track will be installed.
The Forchbahn tunnel between Waltikon and Neue Forch, built in the 1970s, was renovated. Damage to the building fabric as well as various modernisation works were necessary. The work was carried out during ongoing railway operations.
