Can I install my Flexcolor CQ grout over the entire surface before washing it?

It is necessary to work small areas, maximum 15 to 20 sq. ft. (1.39 to 1.86 m²). Do not allow the grout to dry for more than 10 minutes.

After drying there is a hazy residue on my tiles, how can I remove it?

Use UltraCare Epoxy Grout Haze Remover. Although Flexcolor CQ grout is not an epoxy grout, this product works great with it, so long as it is not allowed to remain on the grout joint for more than 20 minutes, which could damage the grout.

When opening the bucket there is a white liquid pooled on the surface. Is this normal?

Yes, although Flexcolor CQ grout is a pre-mixed grout, it may need to be stirred before use.

How long after grouting with Flexcolor CQ should I wait to use my shower?

It is recommended to wait 3 days before using the shower. In some cases, where conditions are very humid and cold, or if ventilation is insufficient, it may take longer to dry.

Is a sealer needed for tile grouted with Flexcolor CQ?

No, this grout requires no sealer and cures naturally from evaporation of the low level of water in the formulation; in any event, sealants do not adhere well to Flexcolor CQ grout, due to its formulation.

My grout joint is uneven or too deep. Can I add grout overtop?

Yes, you can apply Flexcolor CQ grout over existing Flexcolor CQ grout on deeper grout joints. The key is to leave only a thin layer on the joint surface. For details, see our “Grout Troubleshooting Guide.”

How do I remove MAPEI Flexcolor CQ grout haze on my newly installed floor?

MAPEI Flexcolor CQ is a ready to use grout that is 100% acrylic and dries harder than cement-based grout. The residue left behind, when not properly removed during the grouting process, can appear as a clear film that can become tacky. This residue can easily be removed using UltraCare Heavy-Duty Stone, Tile & Grout Cleaner.
