High-Performance, Rapid-Setting Grout with Maximized Color Depth and Color Consistency

Ultracolor Plus Max is an ultra premium, fast-setting, polymer-modified, nonshrinking grout that offers rich and vibrant colors with maximized color depth and color consistency. This fine-aggregate grout can be used for joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4" (1.5 mm to 19 mm). Ultracolor Plus Max includes DropEffect™ technology for reduced surface absorption, helping to repel water, dirt and grime from penetrating grout joints. It is also specially formulated with MAPEI’s High-Hydrated Cement Technology (HCT™) to provide advantages over traditional grout, such as eliminating efflorescence and increasing stain resistance.

Can I mix just a part of my bag of grout?

Yes, it is possible to mix less than a full bag of grout. See our document: “Mixing partial units of grout.”

Do I need to do anything differently when installing tile in hot weather?

Yes, the hotter the temperature, the faster the cement grout dries. Consult our technical bulletin: “Installing tile in hot weather.”

My grout joints are uneven or too deep; can I add more grout overtop?

No, a cement-based grout needs 2/3 the thickness of the tile for proper placement. Scrape it away and re-grout any grout joints with this condition.

How long do I have to wait after installing ceramic tile with cement-based grout to use my shower?

3 days minimum

Should I use a sealant?

Although not required, for optimal results, Ultracolor Plus FA or Ultracolor Plus Max may be sealed - especially in places such as showers. Sealers make grout maintenance easier in the long run. The solution: UltraCare Grout Sealer.

Why is my grout discolored?

Possible causes are:

Washed with excessive amounts of water.
Too much water was mixed-in with the grout.
Grouted before mortar was fully dry, with moisture from the mortar trapped under the tile.
Wall tiles may be inherently over-absorbent.

In all cases, apply UltraCare Grout Refresh to the grout joints.
