Mapei Malaysia delivered a half-day seminar organised by the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, on the subject “The Deterioration of Concrete and it’s Repair and Protection According to EN1504” at the Crystal Crown Hotel. The event received an excellent response with an attendance of about 120 engineers.
The main speaker, Lim Kean Meng – Technical Service & Training Manager of MAPEI Malaysia - explained the ten parts of the EN 1504 Standard together with project references to illustrate how Mapei had solved problems with concrete deterioration. The seminar was aimed at helping increase awareness of the Standard and showing how it can help Engineers and Owners make the right decisions in potentially complex situations.
During the seminar, various applications on anchoring, structural bonding, structural repairs and protective coatings were demonstrated using Mapei products which are certified in compliance with EN 1504 eg. MAPEFIX PE SF300,
EPORIP,
MAPEFILL,
EPOJET LV,
MAPELASTIC GUARD and
