A Seminar on Optimising Performance in Concrete hosted by YTL Cement was held in the Marriot Hotel. A total of 400 participants from the concrete and building industry came for this annual seminar. Mapei Malaysia was proud to bring forth the expertise of Dr Francesca Surico, the head of R&D Admixtures for Concrete in Italy to present on the topic of “Trends on the Use of Additions and Admixtures for Optimizing Performance of Flowing Concrete”. The presentation included several case studies with different concrete mixtures ranging from SCC to fluid and to RCC.

One of the impressive projects undertaken by Mapei presented here was the Panama Canal. The canal ‬connects the two oceans that allows the passage of larger ships through at triple the size. The inner & outer sides of the locks were built with 5.500.000 meters cubic of concrete admixed with MAPEI's Dynamon XP2 and Dynamon XP2 Evolution 1.
