MAPEI TO TAKE PART IN SiKAS AT PULLMAN KUALA LUMPUR – BANGSAR, 29TH-30TH MARCH 2022 (SIMPOSIUM KEJURUTERAAN AWAM & STRUKTUR)

MAPEI is taking part in SiKAS (SIMPOSIUM KEJURUTERAAN AWAM & STRUKTUR), an event jointly organized by the Malaysian Structural Steel Association (MSSA) and the Ministry of Works/Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR). The purpose of this symposium is to create awareness and increase understanding of the latest engineering technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Industrialised Building Systems (IBS), including the use of steel structures and the best methods of engineering in moving towards Industry 4.0.

MAPEI displays include:

• Joint sealing, grouting, waterproofing and adhesive applications for IBS Precast Panels and Hybrid Systems.
• Structural Strengthening with Composite Materials and HPC technology, an application of fibre-reinforced, high-ductility mortars with free-flowing workability for enlarging structural members without the need to add steel reinforcement. The use of Planitop HPC technology helps limit the application thickness.
• Purtop 1000 for tank applications. This is a two-component, solvent-free, pure polyurea membrane applied by spray with a high-pressure, bi-mixer type pump to form waterproof and chemical-resistant coatings directly on site for storage tanks, basins and hydraulic works. Purtop 1000 has been certified safe for contact with drinking water.

The symposium will be launched by the Minister of Works. Topics on steel structures, BIM, structural laminated timber, seismic design will be presented in the two-day conference.
