The collaboration between cycling and the Italian company continues
Italy, 25/9/2024
Mapei, leader in chemical products for the building industry, continues its journey alongside the UCI - Union Cycliste Internationale - as Main Partner of the UCI Road and Para-Cycling Road World Championships to be held in Zurich from 21 to 29 September 2024.
The UCI Road World Championships return to Switzerland after 15 years - they were held in Mendrisio in 2009 - and for the first time are held in combination with the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships. All the athletes will share the same roads and cross the same finish line. Over 1,600 athletes will compete across Elite, Under 23, Juniores and Para-cycling categories for a total of 66 UCI world titles.
The collaboration between Mapei and the UCI is further strengthened, underlining the deep bond between the company and cycling. This relationship began in 1993, when Mapei entered the world of cycling, supporting until 2002 a professional cycling team that clocked up 654 international victories. Since 2008, Mapei has been the Main Sponsor of the UCI Road World Championships, supporting this prestigious international event every year. The bond between Mapei and the UCI stems from sharing the same values such as hard work, teamwork and determination to face new challenges.
The races will be broadcast on the world's main television channels on the five continents, guaranteeing widespread and high-impact coverage. In Italy, the event will be distributed through RAI and Eurosport.
Mapei will be present along the entire race route with its logo visible on banners and backdrops at prize-givings, press conferences and interviews, as well as on all official communication materials. The company will also provide a Hospitality Area reserved for its customers, offering them an exclusive location to follow the races from close up.
