Mapei Fire Evacuation Drill Exercise December 2022

Mapei conducted our Fire Evacuation Drill Exercise on the 16^th of December 2022. All employees were involved, including visitors on the premises during the drill and were taught to direct to the nearest evacuation route in the event of a fire. 

New employees were also taught basic fire drills and practical fire protection tips, including the importance of adhering to safety procedures during a fire and to quickly evacuate to the gathering point. Employees were also taught to adopt PASS when confronted with a small fire. 

P – Pull the Pin, A – Aim at the base of the fire, S – Squeeze the handle or lever, S – Sweep from side to side.

Different types of fire extinguishers, like dry power and CO2 types were also taught, such as the approximate distance to the fire, effectiveness of dry powder vs CO2.
