Waterproofing is a theme which we always approach with success by offering a wide range of specific, safe and long-lasting waterproofing products. The main problem encountered by users is infiltrations in areas such as second pours, underground structures, terraces and roofs.
INTERNATIONALITY
The range of our waterproofing membranes and coatings are comprehensive in order to cater for different requirements all around the world.
VERSATILITY
The line may be used in any sector: from large-scale infrastructures to residential use and even for waterproofing underground structures.
GUARANTEE
Our products help ensure all interventions are sound, guaranteed and durable.
The main difference would be the application method. Each has its own advantages. Liquid applied membrane can take any profile of the concrete surface, while waterproofing membrane sheet is consistent in terms of membrane thickness and characteristics. Aquaflex Roof, Plastimul PU and Purtop Easy are examples of Liquid Applied Membrane. Mapethene TA, Mapethene HT SP, Mapeproof AL AP and Spider P are examples of Sheet Membrane.
Mapei has complete solutions portfolio for waterproofing underground structures. Mapeproof AL AP, Mapethene HT SP and Mapelastic Foundation are some products developed for underground waterproofing. First, we need to understand the water table and type of construction for the project before a right product is being proposed.

Products such as our Mapeplan range, such as Mapeplan TB which are synthetic rolled on waterproofing membranes supplied in various roll lengths or our liquid applied products from the Aquaflex range such as Aqauflex Roof MY. Self adhesive preformed waterproofing membranes such as Spider P which can be applied without any torch or flame in the job site are also suitable.
For roofs where a torch can be used, products such as Mapethene TA a quality APP modified bituminous membrane may also be suitable. For further information, contact our sales or customer service for an accurate product recommendation for your project.

In Singapore’s tropical climate, protecting roofs from water damage is essential to maintain the structural integrity of buildings, especially ones that are multiple stories high. Roof waterproofing plays a key role in preventing leaks, dampness, and deterioration caused by frequent heavy rains and high humidity. Roofs are also large exposed surface areas that can be time consuming to waterproof if the product used is not suited for roofs.
Waterproofing roofs is a challenging task due to their constant exposure to extreme weather conditions and harmful UV radiation; with the presence of additional installations such as air conditioner units, solar panels, and roof penetrations complicating the process even further. However, Mapei's rapid-setting Polyurea and Polyurea Hybrid flexible liquid membranes, along with Polyglass bituminous sheet membranes provide a reliable, long-lasting solution for waterproofing rooftops.
Singapore’s tropical climate, characterised by heavy rainfall and high humidity, has a need for waterproofing solutions. Roof waterproofing must withstand intense sun exposure, frequent build-up of water puddles (Ponding), and moisture build-up. Additionally, roofs in urban areas face temperature fluctuations, which can affect the waterproofing layer’s longevity. Selecting suitable materials and methods tailored to these environmental factors is essential to maintain effective protection year-round.
