Mapei receives the Industria Felix Award as the best company in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector in the Lombardy region

On Thursday 23^rd January, in the Lombardy Region head offices, Mapei will receive the High Honour for Excellence in Financial Statements as part of the 4^th edition of the Industria Felix Awards – The Lombardy that competes, a study carried out by the three-monthly periodical Industria Felix Magazine, in collaboration with the Research Department of Cerved Group, with the patronage of Confindustria Lombardia.

Mapei, which has been singled out for the excellent managerial performance and financial stability registered in 2018, has been chosen by applying a financial parameters algorithm which analysed the financial statements of 32,904 corporations registered in the Lombardy Region with an income of 2 million to 13.9 billion Euros.

The algorithm classifies companies by size and sector based on the best decreasing EBITDA, with a positive ROE index, in profit, a Financial Charges/EBITDA ratio of less than 50% and an unchanged or growing number of employees compared with the previous year.

During the awards ceremony, Mapei will also receive a “green” parchment in recognition of the importance the company places on ESG values (Environmental, Social, Governance) and their commitment to sustainability, which has led to the company issuing a Sustainability Report since 2016.

On a previous occasion, in 2018, Mapei also received an award in the 2^nd edition of the Industria Felix Awards for their Consolidated Financial Statements for 2017.

“To receive the Industria Felix Award for a second time is confirmation of the excellent business performance registered by Mapei in recent years and of the growth strategy that characterises the Company. This result, however, does not represent the final goal, but a level we must now try to exceed. Mapei’s intention is to build on what we have achieved until now and to set new records”, commented Veronica Squinzi, Mapei CEO and Global Development Director.

During the awards ceremony Mapei will also receive a special Mention of Honour dedicated to Giorgio Squinzi for his outstanding commitment as Mapei President and for his services to Italian industry.
