Mapei is partnering the exhibition "Dante. La visione dell'arte"

On the 700th anniversary of the Great Poet’s death, Mapei is supporting an event being organised at San Domenico Museums in Forlì by Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì and the Uffizi Galleries

April 29, 2021

Milan, 29th April 2021 -Mapei is confirming its commitment to art and culture by backing an exhibition entitled “Dante. La visione dell’arte” (Dante. The Vision of Art) being organised at San Domenico Museums by Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì in partnership with Forlì City Council and with the special support of the Uffizi Galleries as part of the 700th anniversary celebrations of the death of the father of the Italian language being promoted by the Ministry of Culture.

At this tricky moment in time, Mapei, which has always supported numerous cultural projects, has decided to renew the partnership it has had with San Domenico Museums since 2016 by backing an event symbolising the revival and rebirth of the nation, the world of art, and the spirit of culture and civilisation it represents.

Open to the public from 30t April-11th July, the exhibition will provide an all-encompassing overview of the author of the Divine Comedy in an extremely elaborate exhibition layout encompassing works of art from the Middle Ages to the 20th century: the artists on display include Giotto, Beato Angelico, Filippino Lippi, Michelangelo and Tintoretto right down to Sartorio, Boccioni, Casorati and other contemporary masters. A total of approximately 50 paintings, sculptures and drawings will be displayed on loan from the Uffizi Galleries that will be coordinating this great exhibition event.

This joint project reinforces Mapei’s commitment to cultural projects for charity purposes, bearing in mind that part of the revenue from ticket sales will finance a project entitled “A regola d’arte” that Mediafriends has been promoting and backing since 2014. Aimed at young people aged between 6-18 years, who live in the poorest neighbourhoods of Italian cities, the project sets out to encourage integration and social development through education in the realms of sport and culture.

Mapei is also partnering a Sky Arte Special (produced for the occasion), which will be aired in primetime on 30th May on the channel Sky Arte HD, with repeats being broadcast at different times throughout the duration of the exhibition.
