Mapei for the new playground in Montemurlo

Milan, 6^th October 2021 - Mapei supplied MAPECOAT TNS RACETRACK coloured coating for upgrading and redeveloping Oste Park in Montemurlo (Prato, Italy). The official opening of the new playground and paths through the greenery was attended by Giacomo “Jack” Galanda, who used to play basketball for the Italian national team.

The project, promoted by Gian Guido Maria’s association “stART Open your eyes”, brings together urban art - the artist Moneyless designed the playground - and special technology for sports surfaces. As Alberto Cosmelli from Mapei emphasised, “Certified slip-proof products were chosen to decorate the basketball court, which, as well as adding a touch of artistry, also guarantee the safety of the kids who will play on the basketball court”.

The project was carried out using MAPECOAT TNS RACE TRACK, an acrylic resin-based coating in water dispersion that protects surfaces subject to high foot traffic and ensures the are slip proof.

Mapei again proved to be a reliable partner for creating sports surfaces thanks to a range of products specially designed for this purpose that were also chosen for their good looks and durability when used on facilities all over the world.
