Our background

It was 1937 when Rodolfo Squinzi founded MAPEI – Materiali Ausiliari Per l'Edilizia e l'Industria (Auxiliary Materials for Building and Industry) – on the outskirts of Milan, setting us a course that would eventually make us a multinational company and champions of Italian excellence all over the world.

The facts and figures speak for themselves: Three generations of entrepreneurs – a family-run business on a global scale. We have evolved from a simple, single building in Milan to manufacturing operations on five continents and more than 20 global product lines to cater to every building-industry need.
