Mapecontact™ MRT: Simplifying how resilient is installed over concrete

Who has time to wait? Many installations are fast-track, so you can get in and get out as quickly as possible. But no matter how well you plan an installation, issues come up and these delays can cost money. What if you get to the jobsite and find out that you are to install resilient flooring over a slab with moisture problems? You don’t have to worry, thanks to MAPEI’s new Mapecontact MRT.

This easy-to-apply, one-step, double-sided installation tape provides an instant bond and instant utilization. That means not having to wait to walk on it! Mapecontact MRT can be used in interior installations ranging from residential to heavy commercial… with no moisture testing required.
Suitable substrates:
Smooth or steel-troweled concrete (at least 28 days old)
Cement and epoxy terrazzo
Exterior-grade, sanded plywood
High-moisture-rated, cement, self-leveling underlayments and patching compounds
Primed, gypsum underlayments that meet the requirements for compressive strength
according to ASTM F2419 Surface preparation
Even though time is of the essence in most jobs, all substrates must be properly prepared to accept a floor covering. This process will sometimes take longer than the actual flooring installation, but it’s one of the most crucial steps. Floors need to be structurally sound, clean, flat, and free from bond inhibitors such as paint, sealers, waxes, dirt and curing compounds. Mapecontact MRT advantages
Installation is as easy as rolling out Mapecontact MRT and peeling away the
   protective paper.
No moisture testing, mixing or waiting is required.
Mapecontact MRT offers excellent adhesion to vinyl tile, vinyl plank, rubber flooring,
vinyl/rubber wall base, cork flooring and cork underlayments.
