Existing tiles

The old tiles must be clean and well bonded to the base layer. Clean the surface of the existing floor with UltraCare HD Cleaner diluted 1:5 or 1:10 with water according to the amount of dirt on the floor.

Smoothing compound

PLANIPREP CONTRACT

Apply one or two layers (wait 2-3 hours between each layer) with a smooth metal trowel to eliminate any irregular or uneven areas between the tiles.

Adhesive

ULTRABOND ECO MS 4LVT WALL&FLOOR

Apply the product with a MAPEI No. 1 or TKB A2 notched trowel (for LVT with an uneven back or not particularly flat, use a MAPEI No. 2 or 3 or TKB B1 trowel).

Grout

FLEXCOLOR 4 LVT

Apply the product when the adhesive used to install the LVT is set. Fill the grouts using a MAPEI rubber trowel. After 15-20 minutes remove any residues or traces with a damp sponge.

Finishing

MAPECOAT 4 LVT

Before applying the product thoroughly clean the surface of the LVT with a red or green ULTRACOAT PAD. After mixing the two components as specified (comp. A : comp. B = 5 : 1 in weight), apply a crisscross layer of product with a short-pile roller (such as an ULTRACOAT ROLLER T3 or T5) or by airless spray.
