Mapei colour for Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Mapei is helping add colour to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, the striking installation in which Isay Weinfeld has gathered together his memories to share with onlookers as an invitation and stimulus to promote creativity projected into a reinvigorated future. The work was created for INTERNI Design Re-Generation, the exhibition-event devised and coordinated by INTERNI in conjunction with FuoriSalone 2022 (6^th-13^th June 2022) and Milan Furniture Show 2022 (7^th-12^th June 2022).

The eye-catching large wooden box of memories standing in the Honorary Courtyard of the University of Milan has been injected with colour using Silancolor Tonachino, a thick-layered water-repellent transpirant siloxane coating product with high filling properties that is both highly protective and looks great, and Silancolor AC Paint, whose special water-repellent and highly UV-resistant formula make it ideal for coating the internal surface of the ceiling.

Lastly, Colorite Performance protective acrylic paint has been used to add colour to some of the 22 panels of different shapes and sizes forming backdrops (covered in miscellaneous materials and colours) for exhibition niches created as part of an unconventional layout.

The wide range of colours available in the ColorMap colouring system met all the designer's needs and desires, bringing to life his reminiscences and creating links between the visual arts, film, music, dance, theatre, literature and architecture to sew back together the threads of his own personal story.

To encourage the creation of new design ideas (in terms of their materials and functions) in which sustainability is seen as a means of promoting a new quality of life, Mapei has developed an innovative approach to colour: a science that requires consistent experimentation at its Research laboratories to create cutting-edge products that cover effectively, are easy to use, perform to high standards and are particularly environmentally friendly due to their very low emissions of VOCs.

By getting involved once again in this key event focused on the very best in design and furnishing, Mapei confirms its commitment to an increasingly innovative and sustainable building industry capable of improving both the present and the future that lies ahead.
