Ambrogio Beccaria ready for the Transat Café L’Or 2025 with Allagrande Mapei

The ocean sailor teams up with Thomas Ruyant for the historic double-handed transatlantic race aboard “Allagrande Mapei”
October 24, 2025

Fresh from The Ocean Race Europe, Ambrogio Beccaria is ready for a new adventure aboard his IMOCA “Allagrande Mapei”: the Transat Café L’Or, which will set sail on October 26 at 2:30 p.m. from Le Havre, Normandy, bound for Fort-de-France, Martinique. For this race, the Milanese sailor — supported by Main Sponsor Mapei — will once again be joined by Thomas Ruyant, one of the leading figures in French ocean racing, now at his seventh participation in the Transat Jacques Vabre (today the Transat Café L’Or).

Both winners of the previous edition of the famous transatlantic race, also known as the “Coffee Route” — Ruyant in the IMOCA class and Beccaria in Class40 — the two skippers are joining forces for the Transat Café L’Or 2025. The race will be an opportunity for them to combine their experience and shared vision of ocean sailing.

The race

The Transat Café L’Or 2025 is a double-handed transatlantic race from Le Havre to Fort-de-France in Martinique. The course is sailed non-stop and without assistance, covering different distances depending on the class of the boat: for IMOCAs, it’s 4,530 nautical miles.

This year, the Transat Café L’Or 2025 also aims to be more sustainable: for the first time, transporting boats back by cargo ship after the race will be prohibited, encouraging teams to sail their boats back across the Atlantic to reduce environmental impact.

With its trademark passion for sporting challenges, Mapei will accompany Ambrogio and Thomas on their Atlantic crossingThe official Transat Café L’Or website offers live race tracking, along with updates on the Allagrande Mapei Instagram page.
