Existing reinforced concrete pillar

Remove the deteriorated concrete up to the solid substrate with at least 5 mm roughness. Remove all rust from reinforcing rods by sanding of mechanical cleaning with suitable steel brushes.

Corrosion inhibitor MAPEFER 1K ZERO or MAPEFER

Apply the corrosion inhibitor by brush in two coats, for a total thickness of at least 2 mm. Apply the second coat 2 to 24 hours after the first coat.

Cementitious mortar PLANITOP HPC (with HPC FIBRES)

Pour the mortar continuously in formworks on one side only, taking care to facilitate the release of entrained air. Formworks must not take water from the mortar, for this reason a treatment with form-release agent (such as MAPEFOAM DMA 1000) is recommended.

Skimming mortar

Spread the mortar with a flat metal trowel at a maximum thickness of 3 mm.
