Wooden slab

Remove the flooring and all non-cohesive material.

Polyethylene sheet or microporous sheet

Place a polyethylene sheet or a microporous sheet of suitable thickness on the existing surface, creating overlaps of at least 10 cm to be sealed using adhesive tape.

Connectors

MAPEI STEEL DRY 316

Insert the metal connectors along the wooden beams. The spacing and depth of the bars along the joists must be appropriately sized. Bend the emerging part of the bars at 90° so that they are embedded into the fibre-reinforced mortar casting.

Structural strengthening with structural screed

Pour the fibre-reinforced mortar on the surface and if needed spread it with a squeegee.

Adhesive

ULTRABOND ECO S968 1K

Apply the adhesive with MAPEI n.1 or 2 trowel depending on the roughness of the substrate, in order to install the soundproofing membrane.

Soundproofing membrane

MAPESONIC CR

Unroll MAPESONIC CR on the surfaces to be treated, making sure that the sheets are perfectly joint. Apply MAPESONIC STRIP adhesive tape along the perimeter of the room.

Adhesive

ULTRABOND ECO S968 1K

Apply the adhesive using MAPEI n.2 trowel.
