Mapei strengthens its bond with culture by supporting the Academy’s new season of music
Mapei renews its collaboration with the National Academy of Santa Cecilia for the 2019/2020 season of music and strengthens its bond with the world of art and culture, which has always struck a chord with the Company.
As part of this special collaboration, Mapei is acting as Sole Sponsor for the concert conducted by Maestro Antonio Pappano on the 9th of May, 2019.
Since 2016 Mapei has been a Founding Member of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, one of the oldest and most widely acclaimed musical institutions in the world. The collaboration started in 2009 when Mapei first offered their support for the production of The Lord of the Rings in Rome and for the Concert as part of the MiTo Festival held in Turin. Over the years this collaboration has been consolidated through their support for the Concert by Claudio Abbado and Martha Argerich in 2011, the Concert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Daniel Barenboim’s debut in 2012, the Festa di Santa Cecilia in December 2014 and, lastly, as Partner in support of the special Concert of Aida in concert form conducted by Maestro Antonio Pappano in 2015.
In 2017, as part of the company’s 80th anniversary festivities, Mapei celebrated the occasion by continuing their collaboration with the Academy with Concerts conducted by Maestro Gatti and Maestro Pappano.
The company’s support for the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, and for the world of art and culture in general, was thanks to the firm belief of Rodolfo Squinzi, founder of Mapei, that work “Can never be separated from the arts and passion”.
Mapei’s support for art and culture can also be seen through the restoration work carried out on numerous places symbolic of great music and the arts. Amongst the most significant are the Scala Opera House in Milan, the Petruzzelli Theatre in Bari, the San Carlo Theatre in Naples, the “Antonio Salinas” Museum of Archaeology in Palermo, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, the New Opera Theatre in Florence, as well as the Auditorium Music park in Rome, home of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.
