This is a decisive turning point for Ambrogio Beccaria. Until now an undisputed reference in Class40, the Milanese skipper is preparing, thanks to his collaboration with partner Mapei, to change scale by joining the very exclusive circle of sailors engaged in IMOCA. This summer, he will take the helm of a 60-foot foiling monohull, the IMOCA Allagrande Mapei, for the first time to embark on an adventure as demanding as it is prestigious: The Ocean Race Europe. Five stages, five seas, one ocean, and a host of seasoned competitors for an accelerated immersion into the world of crewed offshore racing. To accompany him and in addition to the TR Racing team which already brings its expertise to the project, Ambrogio will rely on a calibrated crew where experience, cohesion, and detailed knowledge of the boat will offer structured and progressive learning. Alongside him, Thomas Ruyant, Morgan Lagravière, Manon Peyre and Pierre Bouras will share a collective adventure where human chemistry will count as much as technical performance.

The Allagrande Mapei crew ready to challenge the elite on The Ocean Race Europe

This is a major first for skipper Ambrogio Beccaria, who will officially take command of the IMOCA Allagrande Mapei in mid-July. And the challenge promises to be significant: from August 10, he will set off in one of the most demanding races on the IMOCA 2025 circuit, The Ocean Race Europe, a nautical loop in five stages, from Kiel (Germany) to Boka Bay (Montenegro). The route of this second edition creates a true maritime odyssey, crossing five seas and one ocean. The start will be given from the shores of the Baltic Sea, heading for the North Sea, before a strategic descent through the English Channel to Portsmouth, the first stopover. The monohulls will then head south, following the Atlantic coasts with a brief passage through Matosinhos-Porto (Portugal), before entering the Mediterranean for a spectacular finale: Cartagena, Nice, Genoa, and finally Montenegro, in the heart of the Adriatic. But while the course is complex, the competition promises to be formidable. Facing Allagrande Mapei Racing are solidly established projects, led by skippers with impressive track records, true references of the IMOCA class. Alongside them, very high-level crew members, seasoned in round-the-world races, transatlantic crossings and familiar with the varied sailing conditions that this European course offers. Adversaries who, for the most part, master their mount from the tip of their bowsprit to their stern.
